Taming The Tail Of The Dragon

 
Greetings good citizens!

How are y'all doing? March 21, 2018, was the official first day of spring. Don't tell that to the nor'easter that dumped snow on cities from Philadelphia to Boston. As I was looking outside my window that night, all I saw was a blanket of white snow. It was the fourth nor'easter in four weeks.

Are you suffering from winter tiredness? I know I am.

I haven't been been blogging much lately, and for the three people that follow my blog, I hope everyone is doing well. I didn't plan to be so stingy with words, but this is what happens when life gets in the way of writing and sharing my blog posts .....but I digress.

I am still enjoying photography, and motorcycles. They are a passion that helps me stay sane.

As I mentioned before, this summer I am riding my motorcycle to Tail of The Dragon on the North Carolina and Tennessee state line (bordering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and near the Little Tennessee River). I plan to stay there for almost a week. Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap with 318 curves in 11 miles is considered America's number one motorcycle and sports car road. It should be fun to ride my bike at Tail of the Dragon, the mecca of motorcycling.

Here's a little trivia question for ya:

There is a reservoir where Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford plays Dr. Kimble in the 1993 movie The Fugitive) jumps into a dam to avoid capture by Tommy Lee Jones. What's the name of the dam, and where is located?

I love Harrison Ford! I've seen the Fugitive 3 times and I think the dam is Cheoa Dam in North Carolina. Enjoy your ride!

Hi Anastasia! You are correct, the dam is Cheoah Dam in North Carolina. It is not far from Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort. This trip should be a lot of fun!
